1Mark 11:1 And when they came near to Jerusalem, to Bethphage and
Bethany, at the Mount of Olives, He sent out two of His disciples,
1Luke 19:29 And it came to pass, when He had come near to Bethphage and
Bethany, at the mountain called the Mount of Olives, He sent two of His disciples,

21:2 saying to them, "Go into the 1village over against you, and immediately you will
find a 2donkey tied,
and a colt with her. Loose them, and bring them to Me.
1Mark 11:2 And said to them, "Go your way into the village
opposite you; and as soon as you are entered into it, you will find a colt
tied, on which no one has sat. Loose it, and bring it."
2John 12:14 And Jesus, when He had found a young donkey, sat on it; as
it is written:

21:3 And if any man says anything to you, you shall say, 'The Lord has need
of them,' and immediately he will send them."

21:4 All this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the 1prophet, saying,
1Zechariah 9:9 Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O
daughter of Jerusalem: behold, your King comes to you. He is just, and having
salvation; lowly, and riding upon a donkey, and upon a colt the foal of a
donkey.
1Isaiah 62:11 Behold, the LORD has proclaimed to
the end of the world: 'Say to the daughter of Zion, "Behold, your
salvation comes. Behold, His reward is with Him, and His work before Him.

sitting upon a 1donkey,
and a colt the
foal of a donkey.' "
1Mark 11:2 And said to them, "Go your way
into the village opposite you; and as soon as you are entering into it, you
will find a colt tied, on which no one has sat. Loose it, and bring it."
1Luke 19:30 Saying, "Go ye into the village opposite you, in
which at your entering you will find a colt tied, on which yet no one has ever
sat; loose him, and bring him here."

21:6 And the disciples went, and did as Jesus commanded them,

21:7 And brought the donkey, and the 1colt, and laid their clothes on them and they set
Him on them.
1Mark 11:5-7 And certain of those who stood there said to them,
"What are you doing loosing the colt?" And they said to them just as
Jesus had commanded. And they let them go. And they brought the colt to Jesus,
and threw their garments on it, and He sat on it.
1Luke 19:33-35 And as they were loosing the colt, the owners of it
said to them, "Why are you loosing the colt?" And they said,
"The Lord has need of him." And they brought him to Jesus. And they
threw their garments on the colt, and they set Jesus on him.

21:8 And a very great multitude spread their garments on the way; others cut 1branches from the trees, and
spread them on the way.
1John 12:13 Took branches of palm trees,
and went forth to meet Him, and cried, "Hosanna! Blessed is He who comes
in the name of the Lord, even the King of Israel!"
Matt. 21:9 And the 1multitudes who went before, and those who followed, cried,
saying, 2"Hosanna
to the Son of 3David!
'Blessed is He
who comes in the name of the Lord!' Hosanna in the highest!"
1Luke 19:37-40 And when He was come near, even at the descent of
the Mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and
praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works that they had seen,
saying, "Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord! Peace in
heaven, and glory in the highest!" And some of the Pharisees from among
the multitude said to Him, "Master, rebuke Your disciples." And He
answered and said to them, "I tell you that, if these should hold their peace,
the stones would immediately cry out."
2Psalms 118:25 Save now, I beseech You, O LORD. O LORD, I beseech
You, send now prosperity.
3Mark 11:10 Blessed be the kingdom of our father David, who comes in
the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest!

21:10 And when He had come into 1Jerusalem, all the city was moved, saying, "Who is this?"
1Mark 11:11 And Jesus entered Jerusalem, and into the temple. And when
He had looked around on all things, and it was now the evening, He went out to
Bethany with the twelve.

prophet from Nazareth of Galilee.
The Cleansing of the
Temple

Matt. 21:12 And Jesus went into the 1temple of God, and cast out all
those who sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the
money-changers, and the seats of those who sold doves,
1Mark 11:16 And would not allow any man to carry any vessel through the
temple.

21:13 And
said to them, "It is 1written, 'My
house will be called a 2house of prayer,' but you have made it a 'den of thieves.' "
1Isaiah 56:7 "Even them will I bring to My holy mountain, and make
them joyful in My house of prayer. Their burnt offerings and their sacrifices
will be accepted on My altar. For My house shall be called a house of prayer
for all people."
2Jeremiah 7:11 "Is this house, which is called by My name,
become a den of robbers in your eyes? Behold, even I have seen it," says
the LORD.

21:14 And
the blind and the lame came to Him in the temple, and He healed them.
Matt.
21:15 And
when the chief priests and scribes saw the wonderful things that He did, and the children
crying in the temple, and saying, "Hosanna to the Son of David," they were moved
with indignation.

21:16 and 1said to Him, "Do you hear
what these are saying?" And Jesus said to them, "Yes. Have you never read, 'Out of the mouths of babes and sucklings you have perfected praise?'

1Mark 11:18 And the scribes and chief priests heard it, and sought how
they might destroy Him; for they feared Him, because all the multitude was
astonished at His doctrine.

left them, and
went out of the city to Bethany, and He lodged there.
Jesus Caused a Fig Tree to Wither

21:18 Now in the morning as He returned to the city, He was 1hungry.
1Mark 11:12 And on the morrow, when they had come from Bethany, He was
hungry.
Matt.
21:19 And when He saw a 1fig tree in the way, He came to it, and found nothing on it but leaves, and said to it, "Let no
fruit grow on you ever
again," And immediately the fig tree 2withered away.
1Mark 11:13,14 And seeing afar off a fig tree having leaves, He
went to see if perhaps He could find anything on it. And when He came to it, He
found nothing but leaves, for it was not the time for figs. And Jesus answered
and said to it, "May no one ever eat fruit from you again." And His
disciples heard it.
2Mark 11:20 And as they passed by in the morning, they saw the fig tree
dried up from the roots.
Lessons From Withered Fig Tree

21:20 And when the disciples saw it, they marveled, saying, "How did the fig tree 1wither away so soon?"
1Mark 11:21 And Peter remembered and said to Him, "Master, behold,
the fig tree which You cursed has withered."

done to the fig tree, but also if you will say to this mountain, 'Be removed,
and be cast into the sea;' it will be done.

For verily I say to you, that whoever will say to this mountain, 'Be removed,
and be cast into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that
those things which he says will come to pass, he shall have whatever he
says."

1John 14:13 And whatever you ask in My name, that will I do, that the
Father may be glorified in the Son.
1John 15:7 If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask
what you desire, and it shall be done for you.
1James 1:5,6 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who
gives to all men liberally, and without reproach, and it will be given to him.
But let him ask in faith, nothing doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of
the sea driven by the wind and tossed.
Authority of Jesus Questioned

Matt.
21:23 And when He had come into the temple, the 1chief priests and the elders of
the people came to Him as He was teaching, and said, "By what 2authority are You doing these
things? And who gave You this authority?"
1Mark 11:27 And they come again to Jerusalem. And as He was
walking in the temple, the chief priests, and the scribes, and the elders came
to Him.
1Luke 20:1 And it came to pass, that on one of those days, as He
taught the people in the temple and preached the gospel, the chief priests and
the scribes confronted Him with the elders,
2Mark 11:28 And say to Him, "By what authority are You doing these
things? And who gave You this authority to do these things?"

21:24 And Jesus answered and said to
them, "I also will 1ask you one thing, which if you tell Me, I likewise will tell you by what authority I do
these things.

ask you one question; answer Me, and I will tell you by what authority I do

21:25 The 1baptism
of John, where was it from? From heaven, or from men?" And they reasoned
with themselves, saying, "If we say, 'from heaven,' He will say to us,
'Why did you not believe him?'
1John 1:29-34 The next day John saw Jesus coming to him, and said,
"Behold the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world! This is He
of whom I said, after me comes a Man who is preferred before me, for He was
before me. And I knew Him not; but that He should be made manifest to Israel,
therefore I came baptizing with water." And John bore record, saying,
"I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and He abode upon
Him. And I knew Him not, but He who sent me to baptize with water, said to me,
'Upon whom you see the Spirit descending, and remaining on Him, the same is He
who baptizes with the Holy Spirit.' And I have seen, and bare record that this
is the Son of God."

21:26 But if we say, 'Of men;' we fear the people, for all hold John as a 1prophet."
1Luke 20:6 But if we say, "Of men," all the people will
stone us, for they are persuaded that John was a prophet.
1Mark 11:32 But if we say, "Of men"— they feared the people, for all held that John, was
a prophet indeed.

21:27 And
they answered Jesus, and said, 1"We cannot tell." And He said to them,
"Neither will I tell you by what authority I do these things.
1Mark 11:33 And they answered and said to Jesus, "We cannot
tell." And Jesus answering said to them, "Neither will I tell you by
what authority I do these things."

believed him, but the publicans and the harlots believed him; and when you saw
it, you did not afterward repent, that you might believe him.
1Matthew 3:15 And Jesus answering said to him, "Allow it to
be so now; for thus it becomes us to fulfill all righteousness." Then he
allowed Him.
